There are quite a few Pennsylvania amusement parks to enjoy. Amusement parks offer rides, shows, dining, shopping, games and more. No matter what part of the state you're in, you will surely find a great park near you. If you are planning a trip to Pennsylvania and want to visit a park but aren't sure which one, check out our picks. While all the theme parks in the state are fun and have a lot to offer, these are surely the most popular and exciting:
Perhaps the most well-known name in the world of Pennsylvania parks is Hershey. Most people know that Hershey is perhaps the most popular brand of chocolate in the world. This chocolate is made in the city of Hershey, Pennsylvania which has been dubbed the Sweetest Place on Earth. Not only can you take a chocolate factory tour at Hershey Park, you can enjoy thrilling rides and fun attractions. There are roller coasters and other thrill rides, rides for kids, and of course plenty of water rides. In the vicinity are other attractions like Zoo America and the Chocolate Spa. If you like chocolate -- and who doesn't -- you will surely enjoy all that Hershey Park has to offer.
Another interesting park in Pennsylvania is Dutch Wonderland. This park is located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and is billed as a kingdom especially for kids. Here you will find over thirty attractions and rides geared towards youngsters. There are family rides here as well for adults and children to enjoy together. Imaginative shows and great food are two more highlights of this park. There are special packages and rates for groups and special events like birthday parties.
Maybe you love water. If so, check out Waldameer Park which is near Lake Erie. Admission and parking to this park is free, which is one reason it is so popular. This park features tons of water rides and slides. However, that's not all there is at Waldameer. There are non-water thrill rides, live entertainment, plenty of dining establishments, games, shops and much more. There is truly something for the whole family at this park.
These represent only a few of the Pennsylvania amusement parks in the state. There are various other parks you may want to consider, including Knoebels, Idlewild and Williams Grove. Most every park in the state will have a website where you can find out everything you need to know about visiting the park. You may want to research various parks before deciding which park you most want to visit.
