Are you heading to Pennsylvania for a vacation? Perhaps you already live there. Either way, you would be doing yourself a grand disservice if you didn't visit at least one of the fun and fantastic amusement parks in Pennsylvania. Possibly the most world renowned amusement park in the entire state is Hershey Park. As you're probably already aware, Hershey is a very famous brand of chocolate. So, it's no wonder that the park has a definite chocolate theme. Many visitors to this park can smell the chocolate as soon as they get into the vicinity.
If you visit Hershey Park, be sure to tour the chocolate factory and get some pampering beauty treatments at the Chocolate Spa. After you've watched chocolate being made, eaten your share of it and even soaked your feet in it, you might be ready for some serious thrills and chills. Adrenaline junkies will get their fill at this park, thanks to coasters like The Lightning Racer and The Claw. If you love water with your thrills, you must ride the Tidal Force which is the world's tallest ride of its particular type. Canyon River Rapids is a fun ride for the whole family that will also get you wet!
Situated in the Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania is Idlewild Park. One of the highlights of this park, at least for little ones, is the Mister Rogers Neighborhood of Make Believe. Roller coaster enthusiasts must check out the Rollo Coaster which dates all the way back to 1938. On hot days, make sure to visit the H20 Water Park. Here you can find all kinds of water rides and attractions. Idlewild Park is located about an hour from the city of Pittsburgh which makes it convenient to reach for many families in Pennsylvania.
Some other notable amusement parks in Pennsylvania include Dutch Wonderland Family Amusement Park, Kennywood and Sesame Place. Sesame Place features all your favorite Sesame Street characters like Elmo, Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch and more. There are rides for kids, adults and the whole family at this whimsical park. Water lovers should check out the Waldameer Park and Water World, which has both land and water rides to fulfill your craving for adventure and excitement. Many people travel to their favorite Pennsylvania park at least once every year, if not more frequently. These parks are fun and exciting for all ages!
