Amusement Parks in Ohio -- Where to Go for Thrills and Chills

If you are in Ohio, you should know there are lots of different theme parks to visit. Many people don't realize how many amusement parks in Ohio there actually are. This means that no matter what part of the state you're in, there is likely a park near you. One of the most recognizable names is Six Flags. There used to be a Six Flags park in Ohio, but the park is now known as Geauga Lake since being purchased by Cedar Fair. If you have visited this park when it was Six Flags but not since the changes were made, you will notice many ride and attraction names are different.

This is simply because the park no longer is allowed to use Warner Brothers characters or names. For example, Batman's Night Flight is now called the Domainator. Other popular renamed rides include Hurricane Hannah, Rocket Relay and Steel Venom. There are rides for children, rides for the whole family and thrilling rides especially for adults. If you're looking for something a little different from the traditional outdoor park, check out the IX Indoor Amusement Park. This is more like a very large carnival and runs for several weeks every year. There are carnival rides and games, thrill rides, food, fun, shopping and more.

Kings Island is another very popular park in Ohio. Located northeast of Cincinnati, this park used to be owned by Paramount but was also purchased by Cedar Fair. There is so much to see and do at this park. Like most parks, there are amazing thrill rides, fun family rides and plenty for kids to do. One of the best attractions is the Nickelodeon Universe. There are 18 different attractions that feature your child's favorite Nick characters. Examples include the Backyardigans Swing Along, Blue's Skidoo and the Jimmy Neutron Atom Smashers. Kings Island also features great live entertainment and plenty of fantastic dining and shopping.

Amusement parks in Ohio are the perfect places to go for a family vacation. There's no doubt that young children love amusement parks. Many adults also enjoy the thrills and excitement offered at these locations. It doesn't matter whether you love roller coasters or hate them, there are so many different attractions that you will find a favorite. When you go to an Ohio amusement park, plan your trip when you think the weather will be the most favorable. And, don't forget the camera. You'll definitely want to capture plenty of pictures to remember the wonderful time you shared with your loved ones!
